Undeveloped mentality has led to problems: Dr. Seneratne

According to Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, the undeveloped mentality of some Sri Lankans has led to several problems. They fight for their race, religion, and caste because of their mentality; it is like adding fuel to a burning fire, he said. "There is no point of talking about the mentality of some people in Sri Lanka. Some people oppose anything new," he added. The minister said this while addressing the gathering during the School Dentists' Association General Assembly held in Colombo, recently.

Minister Dr. Senaratne pointed out that we get our race, religion, caste etc with birth and nothing more. Fighting for them is a mental problem which needs to be addressed. Some are fighting against privatization. Dentistry has a high recognition in New Zealand. It is a must for disease prevention. The issues faced by Sri Lankan dentists should be solved and an arrangement will be made to solve the issues after discussing with them, he added.
