Air Force (A) wins title

Women’s inter-club div. 1 one-day tournament:

Air Force (A) emerged champions of the women’s inter club Premier one-day tournament at MCA yesterday when they beat defending champions Army SC by 61 runs in the final.

Air Force (A) won the toss and electing to bat first scored 190-9 in 50 overs.

Chamari Atapattu top scored with 60 off 85 balls with 9 fours and a six and with Yasoda Mendis (41) put on 50 runs for the second wicket. Sugandika Kumari took 3 wickets for 21 runs.

Army (A) were bowled out for 129 in 45.4 overs with Chamari Polgampola and Chamari Atapattu taking two wickets apiece. The tournament was conducted by Sri Lanka Cricket.
