Australian Border Force makes inaugural deployment to Sri Lanka, India

The Australian Border Force (ABF) has dispatched the largest ship in its fleet to Sri Lanka and India in a bid to enhance co-operation and improve capabilities of maritime security agencies in the region.

The vessel, Australian Border Force Cutter (ABFC) Ocean Shield, made the visit to both countries on May 19. It was the first ever visit by an ABF vessel to Sri Lanka and India, the service said in a statement on the deployment."

Ocean Shield 's visit was an important opportunity to strengthen co-operation and support our common goal of ensuring safety and security across our maritime domains," said the service. (Jane's 360)
