Blood test fee for Dengue: Private Hospitals adhere to directive

Private hospitals and laboratories are following the Health Ministry’s directive to reduce charges for the blood tests used to diagnose dengue fever.

The Health Ministry earlier instructed private hospitals to charge Rs. 250 for full blood count tests (FBC) and Rs. 1000 for dengue antigen tests (NS1).Inquiries made by the Daily News revealed that Durdan Hospital Colombo, Asiri group of hospitals Lanka hospitals, and Nawaloka hospitals and their supplementary laboratories are complying with the order and are charging the aforementioned amounts for the two blood tests.
