Call to join dengue eradication efforts

A regular and well-planned dengue eradication programme needs to be implemented in the Thirukkovil area in the Ampara district.

All school Principals, teachers, students, and parents should join to make the efforts a success, said Dr. N. Aariff, Regional Epidemiologist, RDHS Office, Kalmunai.

Dr. Aariff said a special awareness programme on dengue was conducted for school Principals in Thirukkovil on Wednesday at the Zonal Education Office to review the progress of the dengue eradication programme. The government alone cannot eradicate the dengue menace. People should extend their fullest co-operation towards the health officials to see an end to this menace, he added.
