Tendrils of poetry

 Peace and serenity

Soul is birthplace of peace

Solely, keeps mind and

physic in peace

Live with peace!

be warring with sins

what hurts us,

hurts others

A word - Kind

Can even open

A gate made of iron

One cannot ascend ladder

by pushing others down

no weapon’s powerful

than grace & mercy

one hand washes other - the

twins wash face together

The dead are opening

The eyes of the living

Anger has no eyes

when anger couples

with revenge

Cruelty is born

For a mind peaceful

Everything’ delightful

Farmers require peace,

peace produces wealth

A lean peace’ - superior

than a fat case

If in reasonable side

make peace

If it’s worse

Let’s go to courts

Verdict be given - After

testifying two sides - And

not one side-

meant listening to only one side

sports and travelling,

spurs understanding

Human beings

Peacemakers were

Never overthrown

Freedom’ priceless

worth buying for a price

one who conquers soul - is

one bravest warrior of all

“we’re a human family,”

Long live peace

Long live serenity

An Upland Muse

On gravel roads

Travels far yonder

The distant future

Uphill climb

Tall, Tropical,

Trees reach high

Sky above

Over rocks, shimmer

Pebbled paths

Thick jungle spreads

Chirp of Birds hear

Silence when ....?

In the shrubbs

Noise of waters flow

Filtering light cascade

Crunch of twigs

Thoughtful minds

Landscape spreads

Brings at last

The peak prized

Above Upland hill

Miran Perera

Wedding prayer

May the blessings which flow in all weddings

be gathered, God, together in our wedding!

The blessings of the Night of Power,

the month of fasting

the festival to break the fast

the blessings of the meeting of Adam and Eve

the blessings of the meeting of Joseph and Jacob

the blessings of gazing on the paradise of all abodes

and yet another blessing which cannot be put in words:

the fruitful scattering of joy

of the children of the Shayak

and our eldest!

In companionship and happiness

may you be like milk and honey

in union and fidelity,

just like sugar and halva.

May the blessings of those who toast

and the one who pours the wine

anoint the ones who said Amen and

the one who said the prayer.

- Rumi

For centuries

I have been gazing into the cosmos and its vastness

At all its wonder, all its wonder

The stars whose rays, like messengers

Have been travelling for millions of years

Eager to reach the earth

Someday, they will surely light up my eyes

Someday, I will be able to grasp the hem of that light

And clutching it, go look into that space Javed Akhtar

Girl that eats shoes

There once was a girl on the news

They say she liked to eat shoes

Keep on your feet

When it’s time to eat

Or you may be the next victim to lose

Renee Wisera

What a beautiful sensation !

To love or to be loved

From the very day we see the world

Till we breathe our last breath

We yearn for it anxiously, earnestly.

We argue, wrangle, write and fight

Sacrifice even our most precious things

We shout, cry, moan and groan

And sometimes go to the extremes

Of dying and killing

To grab, grasp, own or protect

Love !

But love is such a beautiful thing

That cherishes and survives

Only on true understanding, caring sharing and giving

Without expecting anything in return.

When you have faith, kindness, forgiveness and empathy

Love always flourishes tenderly, softly

Dwelling in your heart

For ever and ever.

No force is powerful enough

To eliminate or uproot that divine love
