Minister Fawzie celebrates his birthday

State Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation Al Haj. A.H.M. Fowzie celebrates his birthday today. He entered politics through the Maligawatte Municipal Council Ward in 1959 followed by the Grandpass Ward.

He was appointed as the Deputy Mayor in 1968 and became the Mayor of Colombo in 1970.

In 1994 he entered Parliament and was appointed the Minister of Health and Social Services. In 1997 he became the Minister of Transport and Highways, which he held until 2010.

Thereafter in 2015 President Maithripala Sirisena appointed him as the State Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation.
