Team of lawyers to assist Presidential Commission

A team of lawyers representing Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya PC, has been appointed to assist the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate Allegations of Fraud and Corruption at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka.

“A six member team of lawyers including Additional Solicitor General Niel Unamboowe, has been appointed to assist the Commission’s activities following a request made by the Presidential Commission,” the Attorney General said.

The Committee includes retired Supreme Court Judge Anil Gooneratne, Court of Appeal Judge Justice Gamini Rohan Amarasekara, retired High Court Judge Piyasena Ranasinghe and Former Deputy Auditor General M.D.Anthony Harold and Director General of Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board (SLAASMB) W.J.K.Geeganage. The Commission has been tasked with investigating affairs related to SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering Ltd and Mihin Lanka Pvt Ltd during the 12-year period starting from Janaury 1,2006 to January 31, 2018.
