Mr Bean’s return is ‘doubtful’

Sad news, comedy fans. It appears that slapstick icon Mr Bean has been laid to rest for good.

Rowan Atkinson, who played the legendary TV character, told Graham Norton on his show last night that he had essentially closed the lid on his time as the fan favourite.Mr Bean has been gracing our screens since 1990 in a series of mini-movies, and became such a success he landed his own blockbuster.

He later got transformed into a cartoon that ran for 12 years, but ended in 2016.

Explaining to Graham that it was time to let the show go, he said, “I doubt that he will reappear, but you never know. You must never say never again but there does come a point where you feel like you’ve done the most of what you want to do with things.”

Rowan admitted that because of the non-speaking role, he has received universal acclaim because everyone around the world can enjoy it. Over the course of his career, Atkinson has achieved cult status with a number of his roles – starting with periodic comedy ‘Blackadder’. Metro
