Seven suspects held over double-homicide

Police arrested seven suspects in connection with a double-homicide of two individuals in Hanwella, recently.

The victims had been identified as 22-year-old Tharaka Madushanka of Jalthara and 33-year-old Jeevan Kumara Madapatha of Ambulgama. The latter is a father of two. Police said the murders were carried out following a dispute over a sand business that the two victims were involved in.

The suspects were to be produced at the Homagama Magistrate's Court. Investigations are continuing.
