Farmers in Vilachchiya request seed paddy

The Vilachchiya Farmers' Association requested the Agriculture Department to provide seed paddy during the current rainy season.

There was sufficient rainfall to commence cultivation activities for the Maha season, they said, adding that however, they were short of seed paddy.

Vilachchiya Farmers' Association President R.S.M. Ekanayake said that farmers there grew paddy in 3,100 acres of land.
