PS member hospitalsed assaulted by Thewarapperuma

Agalawatta Pradeshiya Sabha member Vindika Thantrige yesterday admitted to Nagoda General Hospital after being allegedly assaulted by Kalutara district UNP Parliamentarian Palitha Thewarapperuma. MP Thewarapperuma had allegedly attacked him while he was travelling in a motorcade to take part in the motor vehicle parade organised by the UNP at Galle Face yesterday evening .

The victim had been travelling with two other Pradeshiya Sabha members from the Palinda Nuwara Pradeshiya Sabha at the time of the assault. He was attacked at Yatadola.

MP Thewarapperuma had scolded the victim before assaulting him. Police are investigating.
