Christmas Bells at the GOH

The age old ceremony of cake mixing starts a few months before Christmas and the winter festivities and is considered to usher for good vibes and happiness.

General Manager, Lalin Adhikari along with Executive Chef, Roshan Jayawickrema, all departmental heads and the pastry kitchen staff participated at the annual christmas cake mixing of Grand Oriental Hotel held recenlty at the Harbor room restaurant.

Preserved ginger, fruits, assorted nuts and sultans, black currents, candied marmalade peels, candied dark cherries and of course the all-important “spirit of season “in bottles – wines of the season, rum and malt whisky to soak the fruits were used at the mixing.

To set the ceremony off, all were handed gloves and chef’s hats. Once all the bottles were added one by one, handful of fruits ceremoniously were well mixed in. Executive Chef Roshan Jayawickrame together with his crew completed the mixing. Grand Oriental Hotel has lined up several events with festive happiness to celebrate this New Year and Christmas season in style.

Christmas Eve Dinner Buffet , Christmas day lunch Buffet and Christmas day dinner Buffet all these are lined up for you and your loved ones to cherish this season with toys and gifts for kids with Santa’s arrival.

New Year’s Eve Dinner dance “Ledger line” will be performing with his inimitable melodies for our Harbor Trail – 2018 bash and Lotus Ballroom DJ Music.
