Rocco’s shines at SLIM Brand Excellence Awards

Rocco’s, a restaurant famous for its pizzas and Italian fare, won the Bronze Award - Brand of the Year, SME category at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards 2018 ceremony held for the 17th consecutive year at the Shangri-La recently.

SLIM Brand Excellence is the leading Marketing and Branding awards campaign in the country, recognizing the best brands and brand custodians excelling in the Sri Lankan marketing arena. The first Sri Lankan on the main board of a Top 100 Company in the UK, Deshamanya Lalith De Mel, was the Chief Guest for the evening.

A revision in the entry kit this year encouraged entries from the SME sector. As a result, SLIM Brand Excellence 2018 boasted an enormous number of entries from the SME sector which led to the program witnessing a record-breaking number of overall entries.

Rocco’s - A Taste You Can’t Refuse, won the award for their brand equity which has gained recognition over a short period of time.

Rocco’s story began 6 years ago with a pizza oven constructed in Krishanti’s garden, subsequently shifting to a main road frontage in Nawala in August 2013. From humble beginnings, today Rocco’s is a place known for its Italian Food Experience. What is however, more satisfying is that they are recognized by patrons as a haven for families and friends to enjoy the food they love.

Commencing operations as a take-away and delivery outlet, Rocco’s emphasis on sourcing only fresh, best quality imported and local ingredients cooked in a home-style fashion has helped the brand to flourish. Rocco’s boasts authentic artisan pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven along with a large product portfolio of traditional Italian and western fusion food.
