ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course in Sri Lanka

The International Cricket Council is currently conducting the ICC Global Level 3 Coaching Course in Sri Lanka.

Twenty-four are participating in this course of which 19 of them are former national players. Ex-national players are Rangana Herath, Dhammika Prasad, Chamara Silva, Ajantha Mendis, RavindraPushpakumara, Chamila Gamage, Darshana Gamage, Jehan Mubarak, Gayan Wijekoon, Sajeewa de Silva, Sajeewa Weerakoon, Niroshan Bandaratilleke, Saman Jayantha, Muthumudalige Pushpakumara, Sachith Pathirana, Thilina Kandamby, Malintha Warnapura and Indika de Saram.

The six-day course which commenced on 6 December, 2018 is organized by the Coach Education Unit of Sri Lanka Cricket and is conducted at the NCC premises.

ICC Coach Educators Ziyaad Parker, Ashley Ross and Roland Lefebvre are the conductors of the course; whilst Heshan de Mel, Head of Coach Education Unit of the SLC and Tharaka Samaratunga; Coach Educator of the SLC is facilitating the ICC towards conducting this program.This is the first time, SLC is conducting a Level 3 Coaching Course in Sri Lanka.

“We are striving hard to build up a good coach base by introducing new programs into our coaching education system, which will help us in developing talented coaches to unearth fresh talent from grassroots,” said Asanka Gurusinha, Chief Cricket Operations Officer of SLC; who is heading the High Performance Center.

SLC recently conducted a Level 2 coaching program as well.
