Divi Neguma Sipdhora scholarships were provided to 18 students from Samurdhi beneficiary families who excelled at the G.C.E Ordinary Level Examination in the Kalmunai DS Division, recently.
The scholarship awarding ceremony was held at Kalmunai Divisional Secretariat Auditorium; it was presided by Kalmunai Divisional Secretary M.M. Nazeer. Ampara District Samurdhi Director M.S.M. Safraz was the chief guest.
Rs.1,500 scholarships per month would be provided to each student till they sit for their GCE Advanced Level Examinations.
Ampara District Samurdhi Director M.S.M. Safraz, Kalmunai Divisional Secretary M.M. Nazeer, Kalmunai Divisional Secretariat Samurdhi Headquarters Manager A.C.M. Najeem, Samurdhi Project Manager A.M.S. Nayeema, Management Director S. Rifai, as well as Samurdhi Zonal Bank Managers M.M.M. Mubeen and Moses Puviraj handed over the certificates to the beneficiaries. Winners of the Children's Cultural Competition, those selected as the 'Best Samurdhi Development Officers', and Ampara District Samurdhi Director M.S.M. Safraz were also felicitated with certificates and mementos.
Kalmunai Divisional Secretariat staff, Samurdhi Development officers, teachers, parents, and students were also present.
