Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today further remanded former Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi, alias ‘Navy Sampath’, until January 09.
Hettiarachchi was arrested over the abduction and disappearance of 11 youths between 2008 and 2009.
Filing a further report, CID Gang and Robbery Unit OIC Nishantha Silva informed the court that they recorded a statement from Naval Land Operation Director Rear Admiral Serasinghe regarding the death leveled incident into the key witness lieutenant Commander Chinthaka Welagedara of this case.
The CID yesterday recorded a statement from lieutenant commander Chinthaka Welagedara.
The Magistrate ordered the Bribery Commission to submit a progress report regarding the investigations into the incident on next hearing date.
The Magistrate fixed further inquiries for January 11.
