DFCC Bank scored a thrilling two wickets win over NDB Bank in the ongoing MCA 'D' Division 40 Over League Tournament 2019, continued on December 22 at Mattegoda.
NDB batted first and scored 165 in 39.1 overs with Charuka Raveen making a top score of 65 runs. Lakshitha Liyanage (2/22), Praboda Manoj (2/25) and Mahesh Senaratne (2/35) bowled well for DFCC.
DFCC in reply scored 169 for 8 in 38.2 overs thanks to the fighting innings of Harshaka Cooray (40) and J. Lawrance (25). Thanuka Perera’s (4/33) good bowling performance was not good enough for NDB.
In another tournament match played on the same day at Weyangoda, Central Finance beat Delmage Group by 28 runs in the DLS method. Central Finance batted first and scored 160 in 32.4 overs (Vikum Costa 35, A. Karunaratne 35, T. Gunatillake 25, C. Perera 3/30, A. Samuel 2/35)
Delmage Group given a revised target due to a rain stoppage to make 175 runs in 33 overs, fell short scoring 147 in 31.1 overs (D. Nalinda 30, I. Vidana 26, N. Fernando 3/07, V. Costa 2/42, I. Salinda 2/34)
The tournament will be continued on January 5 and 6 with a card of 04 matches.
