Sunanda Kodagoda won the First Place in Open Poetry Section of Colombo District Literature Competition conducted jointly by the Department of Cultural Affairs and Colombo District Secretariat in concurrently with the National Art Festival. Sunanda Kodagoda also secured the First Place in Open Poetry Segment and Open Songs Composing Segment in the Regional Literature Competition conducted by the Maharagama Divisional Secretariat. In the last year too, first places in Regional and District poetry section were also secured by Sunanda Kodagoda.
Sunanda Kodagoda being a poet, songs composer, journalist and veteran photographer, has gained several conquests in the fields of Literature and photography in earlier occasions too and serves as an Officer of National Selection Committee of Sri Lanka Carrom Federation and a Media Officer.
This time Colombo District Literature Art Festival & Kolomthota Peheliya Art Fiesta was held at the New Townhall, Colombo under the patronage of Sunil Kannangara, Government Agent of Colombo, under the theme “Literature and Art for a blessed country filled with calm, cultured, intellectual, and nice-looking people”.
