Policed probe setting of dog on fire

Negombo Police have launched an investigation where a Labrador named Charlie was set on fire in its kennel in a house close to the Koppara Junction in Negombo on December 31st night. The occupants of the house were out at the time.

According to the Police Spokespersons office, it was further revealed that the caged Labrador dog worth nearly Rs.35,000 was set on fire by an unidentified person after pouring Kerosene.

Vets had made attempts to save the life of the dog which suffered extensive burn injuries but the animal had died.

No suspects have been arrested in connection with this incident upto now.Negombo Police are investigating.
