The defending league rugby champions look well set for an automatic top place in the 2018/19 league, if they continue to win, like they have done in the first round. Kandy SC are richly stocked with talent and is a team that has found a way to win matches.

The rugby loving public of the hill capital city is proud of the contribution made by well known rugby promoter Malik Samarawickrema. From the day he chose to promote rugby at Kandy SC the game has flourished. He is the man who helped them win the first ever trophy in rugby. Now they have won the league 19 times since 1994 and the knockouts on 20 occasions since 1992, the highest by any club.

And this season too Malik has given a big hand to the game, and the club is unbeaten winning all seven games in the first round.
Fortunately for Kandy SC, its sponsors and well-wishers have delivered with spirit, all the necessary facilities at all times providing the players the best and they have repaid it by pocketing all the trophies on offer.
