ABAN ABRAHAM an oil exploration ship owned by the Pelican Group called at Hambantota international harbour for a tool adjustment. The 219 meter long ship will be anchored for six months for adjusting the tools and repairs in Hambantota prior to a oil exploring program.

According to the Operational Officer Hambantota Port, Tissa Wickramasinghe, this is the first time that they are engaging in offering a service of this nature. “The successful repair of ABAN ABRAHAM will result in more ships calling over to the China Merchants Port Holdings managed Hambantota Port for repairs in the future brining additional revenue.”
