Kaumal pilots cambrians to victory

A fine match bag of 10 for 60 (5/38 and 5/22) by left arm leg spinner Kaumal Nanayakkara enabled Prince of Wales College to beat Presidents College Kotte by innings and 96 runs in their inter school first eleven cricket match worked off at Moratuwa.

Batting first Cambrians declared at 266 for 9 with Prince Fernando and Pasindu Pathum scoring 85 and 68 runs respectively and in reply visitors were all out for 126 runs and following on Presidents College were skitled out for a paltry 44 runs. So far this season Kaumal has claimed 44 wickets including two ten wicket hauls.

Prince of Wales – 266/9 dec in 71.2 overs – (Prince Fernando 85, Pasindu Pathum 68, Kavinda de Mel 26, Tharindu Amerasinghe 22, Thavain Thewmika 3/43, Thashika Nirmal 3/57, Dineth Nelumdeniya 2/61).

Presidents College – 126 in 49.2 overs – (Thevain Thewmika 21, Kaumal Nanayakkara 5/38, Lakshan Perera 3/27 and 44 – (Hasitha Nirmal 27, Kaumal Nanayakkara 5/22, Suwath Mendis 3/14).
