Addalaichenai Sober Sports Club beat Addalaichenai Super Sonic Sports Club by 39 runs in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Super Sonic Cricket Tournament Champion Trophy-2018’ of the eight-a- side limited 5 over’s cricket tournament conducted by Addalaichenai Super Sonic Sports Club at the Addalaichenai Ashraff Memorial Public play grounds recently.
Addalaichenai Super Sonic Sports Club President A.L.M.Fathah organized the tournament. The tournament saw record number of prominent teams from the Ampara district participated.
Addalaichenai Sober Sports Club, won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 90 runs in their allocated 05 over’s. In reply, Addalaichenai Super Sonic Sports Club, scored only 52 runs.
Man of the match was S.M.Mufaris of the Sober SC and man of the series was S.Sajath Ahamed of the Addalaichenai Super Sonic SC and awarded prizes. Junior Player of the Super Sonic SC A.M.Rikas Ahamed was also felicitated at the event.
The awards ceremony was held under the patronage of the Super Sonic SC Deputy President and former Pradeshiya Sabha Member I.L.Abdul Munaff. Parliamentarian and Addalaichenai Divisional Development Co-ordinating Committee Co-Chairman A.L.M.Nazeer was the chief guest.
Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Members A.S.M.Uwais, Thameem Abdeen, Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha Secretary M.I.M.Fayis, Prominent people of the area, Officials of the Sober and Super Sonic Sports Clubs and Players were all present at the awards ceremony.
Winners were awarded a trophy and Rs.20,000.00 cash prize by the chief guest and the Super Sonic Team was awarded a cash prize of Rs.15,000.00 and a trophy.
