‘Tourism growing in Sri Lanka’

Tourism is a growing industry in Sri Lanka and the country continues to attract foreign investors and tourists, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Jordan A. L. M. Lafeer said.

He was speaking to tour operators in Jordan, during the tourism promotional event at the Embassy premises, recently.

The event was held in the form of a discussion between Jordanian outbound tour operators and Embassy officials.

The Ambassador added that over the past few years, resorts, star hotels, and spas have been opened. Various tour establishments in Sri Lanka offer visitors a unique and memorable experience, he said.

The tour operators, appreciating the discussion initiated by the Embassy, said they learned about tourism in Sri Lanka and the world-renowned tourist attractions, including the centuries-old culture and heritage. They said the discussion would help them to market Sri Lankan tourism products to their clients in Jordan. The discussion was conducted along with a multimedia presentation depicting the beauty of Sri Lanka through the eyes of tourists from various countries and screening on Sri Lankan destinations. The tour operators showed interest in Wellness Tourism, which is considered the new dimension of Sri Lanka Tourism with the popularity it has gained among foreign travelers.
