Police- CR clash should be a thriller

CR & FC will host Police Sports Club in their Dialog ‘A’ Division inter club League Rugby championship second round match at Longden Place. This match is due to get underway at 4.00pm.

Police launched their season in a promising manner winning two matches against Air Force and Army and even though they lost five games thus far they gave a superb fight to Navy sports club, the last year’s league rugby runners - up going down fighting by (23 points to 24) at Police Park and also went down by a whisker to last year’s league champions Kandy sports Club (23-32) up at Nittawala - who many felt was the team to watch this season. Police SC in their third game for the season against the Red Shirts at their home grounds in Police Park lost the match (18-38) while they also went down to Havelock Sports Club (26-31) and CH and FC (24-29).

On the other hand their opponents of today, CR & FC had to fight all the way before scraping home against a gritty CH and FC, Navy Sports Club, Police and Air Force Sports Club before losing to Kandy Sports Club and Havelocks while holding on to a thrilling 24 all draw against Army Sports club in their last game.

Today’s clash between Police and CR promises to be a real blockbuster and predicting the winner here is not going to be easy.
