The Akkaraipattu Base Hospital collaborated with the other organisations in the area to conduct a two-day public awareness and beach-cleaning campaign under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, recently.

The event focused on raising awareness on marine pollution and its deleterious impact. The collected polythene and plastic were disposed of by the Akkaraipattu Municipal Council.

A team comprised of Akkaraipattu Base Hospital staff, as well as volunteers, officials, and other staff members belonging to the Akkaraipattu Municipal Council, Sun Rice Sports Club, The Walkers Union, ACE Sports Club, Young Men's Muslim Association (YMMA), and Mullaitivu Jummah Mosque participated in the event.

Akkaraipattu Base Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. I.M. Javahir, Akkaraipattu Base Hospital General Surgeon Dr. P.K. Ravindren, Quality Management Unit Officer-in-Charge Dr. M.J. Nowfel, and Akkaraipattu Municipal Councillors were also present.
