Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne has appointed Dr. Sayura Samarasundara as the new Chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC), a Health Ministry spokesman said.
Health Minister Senaratne has appointed M. Sundaralingam as the new Managing Director of the SPMC. The two officials have already displayed their capabilities by increasing the profit of the SPMC, while previously holding the same positions.
Last week the Minister appointed Dr. Rumi Mohammad as the new Chairman of the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC). He was the former Managing Director of the SPC. Dr. Wifred Kumarasiri was appointed as the new Managing Director of the SPC. He was the former Director of Maharagama Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital. Prof. Asitha De Silva was appointed as the National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) Chairman. He held the same position in the past.
Dr. Palitha Abeykoon has been appointed as Chairman of the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (NATA). He held the same position in the past. Dr. Kumara De Silva has been appointed as the Director General of the Health Ministry’s Project Supervision Division.
