IBSL 25th Convocation on January 14 at BMICH

The 25th Convocation of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (IBSL) is scheduled to be held on January 14, 2019 from 3.00PM onwards at BMICH.

Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswamy, Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), is the chief guest and Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, the Secretary to the Treasury and Ministry of Finance is the guest of honor.

In total, more than 700 candidates who have successfully completed academic programmes offered by the IBSL have qualified to receive their Diplomas, Postgraduate Diplomas, Associate and Fellow Memberships at the convocation.

A special convocation speech will be delivered by Dr. W.A. Wijewardena, former Deputy Governor of the CBSL and the former Chairman of the IBSL.

The IBSL is a statutorily established academic institute governed by a Board representing the Central Bank and Licensed Commercial banks, Licensed Specialized banks and the elected representatives of the membership.

IBSL is now operating its academic affairs including conducting classes, examinations and library facilities from its own, spacious 12 – storied state-of-the-art building (IBSL Towers) at Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 08.

K.D. Ranasinghe is the Chairman and H.A. Karunaratne is the Vice Chairman of the IBSL and both are Deputy Governors of the CBSL.

Seventeen accredited centers including one in Maldives have been approved by the IBSL Governing Board to conduct classes for the core examinations of IABF and DABF specially to facilitate for outstation candidates.
