Two suspects granted bail

Two suspects who had attempted to sell seven fake gajamuthu were granted bail with Rs.10,000 sureties each, recently.

They had been arrested near the 16th-mile post on the Mahiyangana - Bibile road in Bibile, after a police officer had gone undercover as a buyer.

The suspects had planned to sell the fake gajamuthu for Rs.15 million.

The gajamuthu were to be handed over to the National Gem and Jewellery Authority.

Investigations are continuing.
