Over Rs.20,000 mn worth Health projects implemented in Kalutara - Rajitha

During the past three years 120 Health Development Projects worth Rs.20,000 million had been implemented in the Kalutara district, Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne stated.

According to Minister Senaratne, Rs. 12,000 million had been spent on developing the facilities of Kalutara General Hospital including a new ETU, new medical ward complex and a new drug storage facilities while another Child and Maternity Hospital to be constructed attached to the Kalutara General Hospital soon.

The new Child and Maternity Hospital to be constructed attached to the Kalutara General Hospital will be assisted by the Netherlands and it will cost Rs. 4,605 million.

In addition Beruwala District Hospital, Aluthgama Rural Hospital and Darga Town Hospital will also be developed with many modern facilities and building complexes, the Minister said.

All state hospitals managed by the Western Provincial Council and all estate hospitals will be developed at a cost of Rs. 8,000 million. Horana Base Hospital will be developed as a complete main hospital.
