Parents protest over private Sunday school

A group of parents of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda yesterday held a protest against the newly appointed Western Province Governor, who had allegedly opened the private Sunday school situated at the Vidyalaya premises yesterday.

The parents charged that the Governor had threatened the school principal. This private Dhamma school conducted by a businessman had been ordered to be closed by the principal.

Heavy traffic congestion prevailed at Nugegoda junction and the adjacent areas due to the protest. Traffic movement on High Level road opposite the school was limited to a single lane as parents carrying placards blocked the movement of vehicals.
