Motorcyclist dies in accident in Chillaw

A 35-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries after his motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle at Kumarakattu in Gurumithenna on the Aanamaduwa - Bangadeniya road on Wednesday.

According to the Police, the victim was attempting to overtake a bus when he met with the accident at about 6.30 pm.

The deceased was identified as Gayan Pradeep Warnakula, a resident of Magurankadawela in Pallama.

The postmortem was to be performed by the Inquirer into Sudden Deaths of the Chillaw General Hospital. The Police revealed that the other motorcyclist is also receiving treatment at the same hospital.

Chillaw Police are investigating.
