The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) conducted its fifth international management programme in Indonesia with its number one ranked university, Universitas Gadjah Mada (MMUGM). The programme revolved around ‘Strategic Management’.

The participants while learning the conceptual aspects of strategic management in the lecture room sessions were also brought into contact with public and private sector management experts in Indonesia.

The participants were addressed by senior officials at the Bank Indonesia, Jakarta Smart City, PT Usman Jaya Makar Textile Industry and Merapi Mount Museum.

The exposure to the Bank Indonesia, the Central Bank of the country was unique, where a senior deputy governor delivered a lecture on the strategic planning process of the bank. She answered queries as to how the Bank Indonesia managed to emerge from the foreign currency crisis, and explained the country’s economic forecast. The programme was in line with PIM’s strategic partnership building, initiated by Prof. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri, Director, PIM. The program in its entirety was coordinated by PIM Faculty Member and Management Consultant Dilhan V. Goonetilleke.
