Warrant issued on Makandure Madush

Kalutara Magistrate Chandima Edirimanne issued a warrant on Makandure Madush, in Dubai Police custody, regarding the prison bus shooting where seven suspects and prison officials were killed last year in Kalutara.

Makandure Madush is the chief suspect in the case called before court on February 7 in connection with the murders of underworld leader Samayan and six others by shooting at a bus belonging to the Prison Department while the suspects were being transported to Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.

The suspects were produced before court by prison officials without the chief suspect, Makandure Madush, the underworld kingpin. The Magistrate issued the warrant and postponed the case.
