Support for self-employment ventures

About 1, 560 unemployed youths in Kurunegala were provided with chicks, ducklings, goats and heifers by the government this year to start self-employment projects.

This was at a cost of Rs. 125 million.

W. E. Jayathilake, Kurunegala Senior Divisional Secretary said another batch of 500 unemployed youths in Kurunegala and Puttalam are to be provided with tools needed for carpentry and masonry within the next two months to boost self-employment projects.

This was at a cost of Rs. 123 million.
