St. Sylvester’s College Kandy GETS People’s Bank School unit

People’s Bank inaugurated a new School Banking Unit with a Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) at St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy, recently, in the presence of P.G.S Bandara, Principal of St. Sylvester’s College, Bonniface Silva, Senior Deputy General Manager (Banking Operations), People’s Bank, I.K Indika, Kandy Regional Manager and Chamini Wicramarathne, Senkadagala Branch Manager.

The Bank conceptualized School Banking Units to introduce the practice of banking and in cultivate savings habit students. The Bank has introduce numerous products and services one of them is Sisu Udana, to empower the youth of the country by encouraging uninterrupted education while enhancing their financial literacy. People’s Bank’s children’s accounts are immensely popular and has became a a household name in the country.

The People’s Bank School Banking Unit offers students of St. Sylvester’s College a host of services such as the facility to deposit coins and cash to their Sisu Udana Accounts; make balance enquiries; issue a handy NFC card with Student Name, Photograph, Admission No etc…) specially designed with respective school colours which can also be used as School ID. students need this card only for cash deposit purposes.

In over five decades of its operations, Sri Lanka’s premier banking institution, People’s Bank, has proved that it is an institution close to the common people of the country, with a special emphasis on children.
