Meghan’s Royal Baby Shower

Meghan Markle made a surprise trip to New York City— her first visit to the Big Apple since her royal wedding last May—for a special event: a royal baby shower. The mom-to-be is set to welcome her first child with Prince Harry in about two months, and she’s celebrating the milestone with a private event with friends.

The celebration may be small in scale (there will only be about 15 guests), but the fanfare surrounding the party is as big as those of Meghan’s major royal appearances. Reports about the fête abound, and photographers were stationed outside the duchess’ hotel to get a shot of the mom-to-be ahead of the party.
