Mahinda College Galle advanced to the quarterfinal of the Singer Trophy Under 19 Division One inter-schools 2-day knock-out cricket tournament yesterday with a creditable six wickets win over St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya in the pre-quarterfinal played at Mahinda College grounds Galle yesterday.
Mahinda’s left-arm leg-spinner Kushan Madhusha took 6 wickets for 46 runs in the second innings and 9 for 60 runs in the match. Mahinda will meet S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia in the quarter final.
