S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia 2nd XI scored 126 runs for 4 wickets in reply to Royal College 2nd XI’s first innings of 194 on the first day of the mini Battle of the Blues cricket encounter played at Mt. Lavinia yesterday.
Ryan Fernando (64) and Thenuka Liyanage (20) helped Thomians to their total while Kaushan Kulasuriya took 3 wickets for 32 runs for Royal.
In Royal’s first innings Sadeesha Rajapakse (66) and Kanika Dayaratne (53) made half centuries apiece. Shemal Samarawickrama took 4 wickets for 27 runs and Thevin Eriyagama and Shenuk Perera 3 wickets each for the Thomians.
Match will be continued today on day two.
