He said so while opening their fourth outlet in Rajagiriya. He said that this project would create over 12, 000 new employment opportunities for youth. He also said that they hoped to open branched in Kandy, Piliyandala and in the Shangri La Mall this year.

“We also hope to open our first international branch in Qatar this year.”

Scissors Group of Salons was opened in 2008 at Havelock town and later spread to Castle Street, Negombo and Ja Ela, increasing its employee strength from 10 to 65. Scissors had also received the ISO 9001:2015 certification and also the Star Quality Award in Geneva and the Best Practice Award in Switzerland and many other awards.

Afthab, however said that finding quality staff is a major issue. “To overcome this problem, we opened Scissors Hair and Beauty Academy in Negombo. However, it is still inadequate and we are at present, planning to import skilled staff from the SAARC region.”

He also said that they are looking at introducing special beauty treatment for bride grooms (Groom Make over) soon.

He said that they also see new trends where more men are patronizing saloons.
