People’s Caravan for land rights

The People’s Caravan demanding land rights, having travelled across the North and East and having visited several sites of land struggles since February 26, reached Colombo where a large number of people came to support and show their solidarity. Nearly 250 displaced persons from the North and East participated in the Caravan, while a signature campaign open to the public was held in Colombo Fort. The Caravan drove through Panama, Mullaitivu, Mannar, Vavuniya, Jaffna, and Kilinochchi. The protestors and signatories are calling for the President to deliver on his promise to release all occupied lands in the North and East by December 2018. Here are some images of the journey of the Caravan.
