Navy rescues drowning girl

Naval personnel attached to the Rapid Response Rescue and Relief Unit (4RU) in the Southeastern Naval Command rescued a girl who was drowning near the lagoon mouth in Panama on Saturday.

A group of local tourists from Kurunegala area was bathing near the lagoon mouth of Panama and after some time, a girl in the crowd was noticed to be drowning.

Having noticed the people screaming for help, Leading Seaman K.A.A.K. Kumara and Leading Seaman H.P.A.N. Kumara, who were on lifesaving duties, rushed to the location and rescued the girl after much effort.
