Several spells of light showers will occur in the Eastern and Uva Provinces and in the Polonnaruwa and Matale districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur in a few places in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Western Provinces and the Kurunegala district after 2.00 pm.
Heavy rainfall of above 50 mm can be expected in the Rathnapura, Galle and Matara districts. Showers or thundershowers will occur in several places in the sea areas off the coast extending fiom Colombo to Batticaloa via Galle and Hambantota.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 25-35 kmph in the sea areas around the island.
Wind speed can increase up to 40-45 kmph in the sea areas off the coast extending from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota and the sea area off the coast extending from Negombo to Kankasanturai via Puttalam.
