FITIS, BCS Sri Lanka section hosts 60th APICTA Exco meeting

Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka ( FITIS) and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka Section ( BCSSL ) host Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) 60th Executive Committee Meeting on 08th and 9th March in Colombo at the Galadari Hotel.

APICTA is an alliance of national ICT organisations representing their respective economy to build and enhance a mutually cooperative network to promote ICT, enhance technology innovations, capability and adoption, and encourage the development of indigenous ICT solutions for the global market. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is making a significant impact in the way we communicate, work, live and play. It is key to entrepreneurial and economic growth as well as wealth creation in our knowledge-based economies.

With the recognition of ICT as a fast growing, pervasive and ubiquitous activity and industry to support the economy’s growth agenda, APICTA epitomises the mutual collaboration of economies coming together and working to further recognise this important phenomenon and FITIS Software Chapter & BCSSL Jointly represent EXCO Board of APICTA for furtherance of ICT Industry in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka has won many accolades at the successive annual Asia Pacific ICT competitions conducted by APICTA during the last 10 years creating a name for the high-quality recognition for ICT products developed by Sri Lankan ICT community.

Hosting of the 60th Executive committee Meeting of APICTA is another significant milestone in the improving relationship with the APICTA member countries.
