Sabaragamuwa PC adopts ‘e-state’ policy

With a view to implementing the government’s ‘e-state policy’, all state service training programmes in Sabaragamuwa Province are to be held online, Governor Dhamma Dissanayake said.

He was speaking at the launch of an online training programme at the Governor’s office in Ratnapura recently.

There are around 30,700 employees in the provincial state service, for whom six training centres have been set up - at Pussella, Meneripitiya, Rambukkana - Apegama, Pambahinna, Atalugama, and Karapincha - by the Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council.

With the implementation of the new online training programme, employees in the Sabaragamuwa provincial service can now obtain many related services at the click of a button and do not have to visit training centres. Training courses can be applied for online, and training materials and examinations would be available online.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said the Provincial Council is duty bound to carry out the state’s ‘e-policy’ by increasing its online services.

Several websites, which can be utilised by the employees in the provincial service for obtaining information and services, such as www.mdtu.sg.gov.lk, www.mdtu.sg.gov.lk/leave, and www.mdtu.sg.gov.lk/elibrary, were launched by the Governor.
