Tough measures against errant principals

Southern Province Governor Keerthi Tennakoon said he had identified 37 principals in the Southern Province who demand bribes to get children admitted to schools.

He said he would take stern steps to bring them to book and deal with them according to law.

He added that according to reliable information, this has become a menace to parents.

The Governor said he will nab such principals. Violation of rules and regulations of the Department of Education by certain principals go unabated, he said, adding that instead of setting an example to others, they mislead others.
