‘Moana 2’ could feature first ever Latina princess

Disney fans get ready, ‘Moana’ might be getting a sequel. But it looks like the film will be a little different to the first outing, focusing instead on a ‘Latina princess’.

And it has been claimed Lin-Manuel Miranda is in talks for the movie, and has ‘held discussions’ with the company.

The 39-year-old’s dad appeared to let slip about the news in a chat with Page Six, explaining, “He is talking to Disney about a sequel to ‘Moana,’ but the movie would be about a Latina princess.”

If the whole thing goes ahead, this will be the first ever Latina Disney princess. Hamilton’s Lin composed the music for the first film, which followed the story of a Polynesian teenager – aka Moana – as she sailed across the ocean to save the people on her island.

Disney have yet to speak publicly about the claims, but seeing as the original film grossed more than $600million (£465m), we wouldn’t be surprised if plans are already underway and songs have already been penned.
