Over 300 kgs of heroin brought to Colombo from Mirissa

Police yesterday revealed that heroin weighing over 300 kilograms had been transported to Colombo by notorious criminal Kelum Indika alias Keuma four months ago.

The suspect was arrested with the diamond worth Rs.5 billion which was robbed from a house in Arawwala on Tuesday morning.

It has been revealed that this heroin stock belonging to underworld gangster Makandure Madush had been brought to Mirissa by boat.

This stock of heroin has been unloaded at the Mirissa beach one week before the arrest of Madush in Dubai.

Police received information that these bags were brought to Colombo in a luxury bus hired by the suspect. He had told police that a several persons in Hulftsdorp had accepted the heroin parcels after the vehicle reached Colombo and Madush paid him Rs.15 million for safely transporting the stock to Colombo. Police sources said that a consignment of heroin belonging to another smuggler Morril was robbed by a group in police uniforms led by the suspect.
