Commemorating the international Women’s Day that falls today, the Bank of Ceylon invites all Sri Lankan women to step in and enjoy special discount offers that will be awarded through BOC Credit and Debit Cards from March 8 to 15 and cash back offers to Kantha Ran Ginum (KRG) account holders on March 8.
The special cash back offer is available for the first transaction of the BOC Debit and Credit card made at the selected shops and vendors on March 8. Every regular KRG account holder will receive a cash back of 5% (up to a maximum of Rs.500/-) and a SmartGen KRG account holders will receive a cash back of 10% (Up to a maximum of Rs.1000/-).
In line with the Bank’s digital transformation BOC KRG can also be converted or opened under SmartGen as a fully digitalized account where a passbook is no longer required to operate the account where customers are given the freedom to do banking anytime anywhere seamlessly through online banking facility which comes absolutely free. Customers can also walk into any BOC branch for transactions as the customer’s photograph and signature are captured digitally at the time of account opening that adds more safety to the account.
SmartGen also comes with a free SMS facility on transactions carried out on the account. It sends a month-end email statement to the customer to a given email address. With the technology that offers the comfort and safety the women deserves, SmartGen KRG account can be reached via B-App- mobile banking app, Smart online banking, Smart Pass book- easy reference to account maintenance and Smart FD- the scrip-less fixed Deposit option.

BOC Kantha Ran Ginum (KRG) is a unique savings account that assists Sri Lankan women to accomplish their aspirations in life. BOC KRG account promises an additional 0.5% interest over the normal savings account and a free life insurance cover amounting to ten times of the minimum balance in the account, maximum of Rs. 500,000/- until she turns 60 (conditions apply). The account holder is also entitled to other facilities including an instant loan facility up to a maximum of 90% from the account balance, on-line banking, SMS banking and a debit card facility.
